FITCH MAKES WAVES IN DAY ONE OF SPRING BREAK

MYRTLE BEACH SC- John Darnley was dominant on the mound, as he rang up 11 strikeouts in Austintown-Fitch’s 12-0 victory over Chesterfield on Monday in Myrtle Beach. Darnley allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings while walking none.

Austintown-Fitch got on the board in the top of the second inning after Carson Fuller doubled, Rocco DiFlorio doubled, and Carter Owens hit into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.

The Falcons added one run in the third on a DiFlorio single, making the score 4-0. They accumulated 11 hits in the game. Fuller, Mason Petridis, and DiFlorio each collected two hits to lead the offense. DiFlorio went 2-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in. The Falcons were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error.
