HUBBARD MAKES SURE TO SPLIT WITH GIRARD

Hubbard was triumphant in Game 2 of Saturday’s double header with 5-1 on Saturday to earn a split of the series. Hubbard was the first to get on the board in the second when a steal of home scored one run. Jaden Royal singled after a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped Girard tie the game at one in the top of the third. The Eagles took the lead in the bottom of the third. Geno Leshnack singled, scoring one run, to give them the upper hand, 2-1.

Tyler Wright earned the win for Hubbard. The righty allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none. Tyler Wilson stepped on the mound first for the Indians. He surrendered seven hits and five runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking five.

The Eagles piled up nine hits in the game. Braydon Songer, Andrew Kali, and Leshnack each collected two hits. Leshnack led with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-2 on the day. Hubbard had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Wright and Mathew Bobovnik led the team with two free passes each. Songer and Leshnack each stole multiple bases. As a team, the Eagles ran wild on the base paths, piling up eight stolen bases for the game.

Will Hynes, Royal, and Nate Freeland each collected one hit for Girard. Royal went 1-for-3 at the plate as the catcher led the team with one run batted in.
