RAMS SPOIL RESERVE’S CHAMPIONSHIP BID

BERLIN CENTER OH- Fresh off a tough loss to Western Reserve the night before, Mineral Ridge entered Tuesday’s rematch hungry for redemption. With Western Reserve poised to claim at least a share of the MVAC title with a win, Mineral Ridge had other plans as they bit back at the Devils in an impressive 8-1 victory on the road.

Mineral Ridge’s offense came out swinging, led by Aaliyah Wall’s standout performance. Wall went 3 for 5 at the plate, including a powerful home run, driving in 3 RBIs and crossing the plate twice. Laney Rigley and Maggie Collins also contributed with multiple hits and RBIs, while Savannah Turek and Sullivan Sandy added key hits and runs scored.

In the circle, Mineral Ridge’s pitching was solid, holding Western Reserve to just 5 hits and 1 earned run over 7 innings.

Despite the loss, Western Reserve managed to get on the board with Katie Byers driving in their lone run of the game. Lindsay Jones, Caylee Selley, Aubrey Kutsko, and Chloeigh Endsley each contributed with a hit as well.

However, Mineral Ridge’s strong hitting and pitching performances proved too much for Western Reserve to overcome, as they now have to hope that McDonald slips up in one of their final three league games to have a share of the MVAC.

LIVELY TOSSES NO HITTER IN LISBON VICTORY

LISBON OH- Lisbon’s softball team continued their winning streak in the EOAC with an impressive 13-1 victory over Leetonia on Monday night, earning their third conference win of the season.

The Lisbon offense came alive with standout performances from Morgan Lively and Ariel Dickey. Lively went 3 for 5 at the plate, driving in 4 runs and scoring twice, while Dickey contributed with a perfect 4-for-5 performance and 3 RBIs. Gionna Leininger added to the offensive firepower with 2 hits, 1 RBI, and 2 runs scored, while Marah Householder and Kamryn Peruchetti each played key roles, scoring 2 runs apiece.

But it was Lively’s performance in the circle that stole the show. In a dominant display of pitching prowess, Lively threw a no-hitter, striking out an incredible 15 batters over 7 innings. Her impeccable command kept Leetonia’s batters off balance all game, ensuring they couldn’t muster any hits or earned runs.

 

RESERVE RISES TO THE OCCASION

MINERAL RIDGE OH- In a crucial MVAC matchup on Monday, Western Reserve rose to the occasion against a tough Mineral Ridge team, claiming a 6-1 victory in their first meeting with the Rams.

The Blue Devils wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Katie Byers leading the charge with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, driving in 3 crucial RBIs. Caylee Selley, Kaleigh Williams, and Lindsay Jones each added an RBI of their own, while Allison Jones contributed with a stellar 3-for-4 outing and crossing the plate twice.

In the circle, Byers was equally impressive, pitching a complete game gem. She allowed just 3 hits, no earned runs, and struck out 4 batters, stifling Mineral Ridge’s offense at every turn.

Mineral Ridge showed some fight, with Sullivan Sandy leading the way with a 2-for-3 effort and driving in their lone run. Lainey Rigley also contributed with a hit and a walk.

ANOTHER BIG TIME WIN FOR MCDONALD

MCDONALD OH- In a display of sheer dominance, McDonald’s softball team powered past Lowellville with a commanding 13-0 victory on Monday.

The offensive fireworks were led by Aubrey Evans, who went a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate, driving in 1 run and crossing the plate 3 times. Miley Titus and Marissa Colarich each contributed with 2 hits and 2 RBIs, while Kayla Helco added to the onslaught with 2 hits, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs scored.

But it wasn’t just the offense that shined for McDonald; their pitching was equally impressive. Isabella O’Brien took the mound and delivered three flawless innings, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and striking out 8 batters. Bri McCombs continued the shutout performance with two innings of her own, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 4.

BULLDOGS CELEBRATE SENIOR NIGHT IN STYLE

CORTLAND OH- In a spectacular display of power and precision, Lakeview’s softball team celebrated their senior night with a commanding 14-4 run-rule victory over Struthers in their latest NE8 battle.

The offensive onslaught was led by senior Izzy Haines, who went a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate, including a towering home run, driving in 3 RBIs and crossing the plate twice. Makenna Werner and Hallie Capan also contributed to the barrage with their own home runs, each adding to the team’s total. Mack Stowe delivered in the clutch, going 1 for 4 with 4 RBIs, while Paige Schwartz showcased her patience at the plate with 2 RBIs and a walk.

I’m the circle, senior Isabella Isenberg dazzled with her pitching prowess, holding Struthers to just 2 hits and 1 earned run over 4.2 innings of work. Isenberg’s dominance was on full display as she struck out 9 batters, keeping Struthers’ offense at bay and giving Lakeview full control of the game.

EAGLES FLY AWAY WITH A VICTORY OVER POLAND

HUBBARD OH- In a nail-biting Northeast 8 Conference matchup, the Hubbard Eagles emerged victorious with a 6-5 win over the Poland Bulldogs this evening. It was a close battle from start to finish, with both teams leaving it all on the field.

Kaylee Schultz earned the win for Hubbard, displaying her pitching prowess by allowing just two hits and one run over three innings. On the other side, Olivia Horn took the loss for the Bulldogs, surrendering 5 runs, 3 of which were earned, and 6 hits.

The Eagles’ offense was led by Lauren Komorek, who delivered a solo homerun in the 3rd inning and followed it up with a triple, tallying 3 RBIs for the day. Haleigh Taylor also made her mark with 3 hits, including a double, helping to keep Hubbard’s offense rolling.

Although the Bulldogs outhit the Eagles, they couldn’t quite plate another run in the crucial 7th inning. Mary Brant led the charge for Poland with 3 hits, including a double, while Elliana Thompson, Leanna Boccieri, and Leanne Williams each contributed 2 hits.

GIRARD HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH OFFENSE

GIRARD OH- In a high-scoring showdown on Monday, Girard showcased their offensive firepower with a resounding 26-10 victory over Niles. From the first pitch to the final out, Girard’s hitters proved unstoppable, putting on an offensive clinic that left their opponents struggling to keep up.

Leading the charge for Girard was Caylee Wilkes, who went 5 for 6 at the plate, driving in 5 runs and crossing the plate 5 times herself. Destiny Flaherty and Malina Serrano were also forces to be reckoned with, each tallying 4 hits and contributing multiple RBIs and runs scored. Kyra Bell and Kylie Carpenter added to the onslaught with their own impressive performances, combining for 7 hits, 8 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. Even Molly Durkin, despite having fewer at-bats, made her presence felt with 2 RBIs, 2 walks, and 2 runs scored.

In the circle, Abby Iceman delivered a solid performance for Girard, pitching all 7 innings and striking out 11 batters. Though she allowed 9 hits and 6 earned runs, her commanding presence kept Niles’ offense at bay, allowing Girard’s bats to do the rest.

Despite the loss, Niles showed some offensive spark of their own, led by Kennedy Bartell and Isabella Rexroad, each contributing 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Lucia DeLuca also had a strong showing, tallying 3 hits and crossing the plate twice.

BRAVES CANT GET PAST BRISTOL

KINSMAN OH- Badger faced a tough challenge on Monday, falling to Bristol with a final score of 11-5.

Despite their efforts, Badger’s offense struggled to gain momentum throughout the game. Elizabeth Price managed to drive in a run with a hit, while Isabella Bailey crossed the plate for a run. Abby Dubelko had a solid performance at the plate, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

Badger will be back in action on Tuesday as they hit the road to play Mathews.

LABRAE LOOKS COMFORTABLE IN LEAGUE TWIN BILL

COLUMBIANA OH- LaBrae showed their offensive firepower on Monday, sweeping Crestview in a doubleheader inside MVAC play with convincing wins.

In game 1, LaBrae’s bats were hot as they secured a victory with a final score of [insert score]. Rylee McDonough led the charge, going 2-for-2 with two home runs, five RBIs, and three runs scored. Mariah Jones also had a stellar performance, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and one run scored. Vada Allen contributed with a hit as well.

In the circle, Riley Rowe was dominant, pitching a complete game with two hits allowed, no earned runs, and eight strikeouts.

In game 2, LaBrae’s offense continued to produce as they secured another victory over Crestview. Rowe helped her own cause, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Jones and Allen also contributed offensively with RBIs, while Khloe Sanderson added to the run tally.

On the pitching side, Vada Allen took the mound for LaBrae and delivered a strong performance, pitching a complete game with three hits allowed, no earned runs, and six strikeouts.

FLASHES BACK WHERE THEY LEFT OFF

WARREN OH- Champion came out swinging on Monday as they returned to league play with a vengeance, sweeping Newton Falls in a doubleheader with scores of 19-0 in game 1 and 6-0 in game 2. Game 1 ended in just four innings, while game 2 ended in three innings, showcasing Champion’s offensive and pitching prowess.

In game 1, Champion’s offense exploded with Gabby Gradishar leading the charge. Gradishar had a phenomenal performance, going 3-for-3 with three home runs, four RBIs, and four runs scored. Addie Warzala also had a big game, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, five RBIs, and three runs scored. Zoe Palette contributed with a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, driving in one run and scoring three times. Bella Meyer and Hailey Householder also added to the offensive onslaught.

In the circle, Gradishar was untouchable, pitching a perfect game over four innings with ten strikeouts.

In game 2, Champion’s bats remained hot with Gradishar and Warzala continuing their dominance. Gradishar launched another home run and drew a walk, while Warzala added another home run and two RBIs. Householder and Sam Strock also contributed with RBIs of their own.

Once again, Gradishar shined in the circle, pitching another perfect game over three innings with eight strikeouts
