ROCKETS STEAL ONE FROM SEBRING

SEBRING OH-

Sammie Kelly had all the right stuff on Tuesday for Lowellville, allowing zero runs and besting McKinley by a score of 2-0

The pitching was strong on both sides. Kelly struck out 11, while Emma Whaley sat down four.

A single by Blake Thomas in the second inning was a positive for McKinley.

Kelly earned the win for Lowellville. She lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out 11 and walking zero.

Whaley took the loss for McKinley. The pitcher allowed seven hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.

Kelly went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead  in hits. The Rockets stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Ryane Esenwein led the way with two.

Thomas led McKinley with two hits in three at bats.

BLUE JAYS BATS UNSTOPPABLE AGAINST RIDGE

MINERAL RIDGE OH-

Mineral Ridge stayed in it until the end, but Jackson-Milton pulled away late in a 25-16 victory on Tuesday. Jackson-Milton was down 9-8 in the top of the fifth inning when Kylie Wilson singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Kaylee Repp collected five hits in defeat. Repp singled in the first, singled in the third, homered in the third, singled in the fifth, and homered in the sixth.

Mineral Ridge got on the board in the first inning. An error scored a run for the Rams

The Rams notched eight runs in the third inning. Hannah Baird, Rosie Nolder, Anastasia Busse, Haleigh Taylor, and Repp each drove in runs during the inning.

Macayle Thornhill took the win for Jackson-Milton. The hurler surrendered seven runs on nine hits over four and a third innings, striking out two and walking one.

Maddy Ylonen took the loss for Mineral Ridge. Ylonen lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 hits and 12 runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Riley Headley started the game for Jackson-Milton. The ace surrendered nine runs on 11 hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one

Mineral Ridge launched three home runs on the day. Repp went for the long ball in the third and sixth innings. Aaliyah Wall had a homer in the seventh inning.

The Rams totaled 20 hits in the game. Repp, Megan Gerberry, Courtney Boyer, and Ylonen each managed multiple hits. Repp led with five hits in five at bats.

Jackson-Milton racked up 21 hits. Camryn Mitchell, Thornhill, Headley, Paige Grope, Wilson, Ava Darney, Chelsea Williams, and Emily Fultz each racked up multiple hits. Mitchell went 5-for-6 at the plate to lead in hits.

POLAND SENDS BULLDOGS TO THE POUND

POLAND OH-

Poland scored five runs in the fifth on its way to a 9-2 victory over Lakeview on Tuesday. The rally was led by home runs by Cameryn Lattanzio and Katie McDonald.

Poland opened up scoring in the first inning, when Jackie Grisdale singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Poland notched five runs in the fifth inning. They put the pressure on, lead by home runs by Lattanzio and McDonald.

McDonald earned the win for Poland. She allowed seven hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five.

Ella Chadwick took the loss for Lakeview. The bulldog went five and two-thirds innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits and striking out three.

Poland  hit two home runs on the day. Lattanzio put one out in the fifth inning. McDonald also went yard in the fifth inning.

Poland racked up 11 hits. Grisdale, Abby Farber, and Lattanzio all managed multiple hits for Poland. Grisdale went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.

Lakeview collected seven hits. Kylie Imes and Sammy Aey each had multiple hits. Imes led with three hits in four at bats.

LATE SURGE HELPS RAIDERS SWEEP HUBBARD

HUBBARD, Ohio

Five hard fought innings of backandforth action between the Hubbard Lady Eagles (7-6) and the South Range Raiders (13-3) had the two conference foes primed for an entertaining finish.Unfortunately for the common fan, the Raiders had no intentions on keeping it close.

The top of the 6th inning was when South Rangewould make their mark on this matchup, scoring 4 runs before they even recorded their first out of the inning. Continuing their run, South Range’sJuli Stachowicz would hit an RBI double to left field and would later come across to score thanks to a single by Kelly Szolek, capping their 6-runinning.

Down but not out, the Lady Eagles tried their best to claw back into the game. Hubbard would score 1 in the bottom in the 6th as well as another in the bottom of the 7th but still would fall short, 8-5.

Hubbard – Matching their longest losing streak of the season, the Lady Eagles have now dropped two in a row and face a tough rest of the week. After an off day on Wednesday, the Eagles must gear up for a gauntlet schedule consisting of Ursuline (13-0), Field (10-2), Mathews (10-0), and Akron Hoban (4-7), and Newton Falls (5-6).

IRISH GRAB RUN RULE IN HOLY WAR

YOUNGSTOWN OH-

Emily Holland had all the right stuff on Tuesday for Ursuline, allowing zero runs and besting Cardinal Mooney by a score of 12-0

Alyssa Sheely led the Irish to victory by driving in five runs. Sheely went 3-for-4 at the plate. Sheely drove in runs on a groundout in the first, a single in the fourth, and a single in the fifth.

Ursuline got things started in the first inning. Paige Ogden drove in one when she tripled.

The Irish put up four runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Sheely, Julia Nutter, and Holland.

A single by Sam Holden in the first inning was a positive for Cardinal Mooney.

Holland led things off in the pitcher’s circle for the Irish. The hurler lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out eight and walking zero.

Alaina Francis toed the rubber for Cardinal Mooney. Francis allowed 11 hits and ten runs over four innings, walking one. Scavina threw one inning in relief.

Ursuline racked up 13 hits on the day. Maris Barbato, Sheely, Mia Opalick, Nutter, and Holland each managed multiple hits. Sheely and Barbato each collected three hits to lead.

CLIPPERS BATS COME ALIVE LATE TO EARN SEASON SPLIT WITH LISBON

COLUMBIANA OH- Through 4 innings of play Tuesday night things were looking pretty good for the Lisbon Blue Devils. They led 4-0 after 4. Mya Emmerling was keeping the Clippers in check . Until the 5th that is when Columbiana erupted for 5 runs to take the lead. The Clippers would score 4 more in the 6th and secure a 9-4 win.

Lisbon got on the board first in the 3rd inning. Justyce Vrable led off with a double, then Kaity Clark knocked her in with a RBI single. Emmerling then doubled to score Clark. McKena Dailey hit in Emmerling with a RBI ground out and give the Devils the 3-0 lead. Lisbon got their fourth run in the top of the 5th when Mallory Gallow had an RBI groundout.

In the bottom of the fifth, Columbiana would get things rolling after struggling through 4 innings. The Clippers led off the inning with back to back singles, then Tori Long hit a sacrifice fly to make it 4-1. Mackenzi Gamble followed Long with a 2 rub blast to cut the deficit to 4-3. Maddy Hitchcock tied things up with a sacrifice fly. Cessna Stoy followed her up with the go ahead RBI double. Columbiana tacked on 4 more runs in the sixth to make it 9-4.

Gamble got the start in the circle. Her final line was 7.0 IP 7 H 4 ER 7 K 2 BB.

Emmerling stayed strong for a while but the Clippers bats caught fire and figured out her stuff. The final line for her looked like this 6.0 IP 13 H 9 7 ER 3 BB 2K.

SHAFFER’S BIG DAY LIFTS THE FALCONS TO VICTORY

CANFIELD OH- Austintown Fitch had no trouble putting away Canfield on Monday night as they run ruled the Cardinals 11-1 in 6 innings.

Sydney Shaffer had a huge day at the plate. She had multiple hits including a 3 run home run. Shaffer finished with 3 RBI. Lydia Spalding, Caitlin Mitchell, and Maddy Taylor each had 3 hits on the day. Spalding racked in 2 RBI.

Spalding got the start in the circle for Fitch. She went 4 innings and gave up 1 hit and struck out 7. Kayla Schubert finished the game for the Falcons with two clean innings with no hits allowed.

Canfield and Fitch are scheduled to meet again Tuesday night at Fitch.

ROCKETS TURN ON THE AFTERBURNERS

LOWELLVILLE OH-

Ten runs in the second inning led Lowellville past Memorial 13-1 on Monday. Rockets batters contributing to the big inning included KC Kelly, Callie Kester, Marissa Rivera, Angie Marsh, Mykenzie Rotunno, and Sammie Kelly, all driving in runs in the frame.

Lowellville fired up the offense in the first inning. Kester drove in one when Kester doubled.

The Rockets scored ten runs in the second inning. Their offense in the inning was led by Kelly, Kester, Rivera, Marsh, Rotunno, and Kelly, all driving in runs in the inning.

Kelly was the winning pitcher the Rockets. The righty surrendered one run on one hit over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Adrianna Candella took the loss for Memorial. The pitcher surrendered five runs on one hit over two and two-thirds innings.

Alyssa Perry started the game for Memorial. She lasted one and one-third innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out three

Lowellville totaled six hits in the game. Rivera and Kester all managed multiple hits. Kester and Rivera all had two hits to lead.

Candella went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Memorial in hits.

LISBON’S SEVENTH INNING RALLY PRODUCES WALK OFF WIN

LISBON OH- Lisbon snagged a late lead and defeated Columbiana 7-6 on Monday. The Blue Devils were down 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Justyce Vrable homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs. Then Mya Emmerling hit a walk off double to score Kaity Clark and win the game.

Bats blistered as Lisbon collected eight hits and Columbiana tallied 11 in the high-scoring game.

In the first inning, Columbiana got their offense started when Tori Long singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Mya Emmerling led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Lisbon. The bulldog surrendered five runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out seven.

Long was in the pitcher’s circle for Columbiana. Long surrendered three runs on four hits over six innings, striking out six.

Lisbon hit one home run on the day. Vrable had a dinger in the seventh inning.

The Blue Devils scattered eight hits in the game. Vrable and Kaity Clark each collected multiple hits. Clark and Vrable each had two hits to lead.

Columbiana totaled 11 hits in the game. Julia Rapp, Long, and Mackenzi Gamble all managed multiple his. Rapp led the way with three hits in four at bats.

INDIANS WIN TOUGH BATTLE WITH JEFFERSON

GIRARD OH-

Girard beat Jefferson Area 5-3 on Monday.

Jefferson Area fired up the offense in the first inning. Adrienne Smith grounded out, scoring one run.

The Indians pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth McKayla Durr singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Allison Durkin laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, and Aly Wakefield singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Emily Rosace led Girard to victory in the circle. The righthander surrendered three runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out six.

Sammi Speakman took the loss for Jefferson Area. The bulldog surrendered five runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Girard had nine hits in the game. Durr, Seyhan Dede, and Sophie Griffith each racked up multiple hits. Griffith, Dede, and Durr each managed two hits to lead.
